Media Correction - Financial Review 9th February 2010 "$3M Cloud Computer Deal
Webjet wishes to correct any misunderstanding relating to the above article, specifically:
- The cloud computer description is not accurate. Webjet owns all of its internet web servers which are operating under VMS and as such are massively scalable and typically operate with over 100% head room. The servers are based in the Macquarie Telecom Centre and managed by Macquarie Telecom. There are no changes to this arrangement which has been in place for several years.
- The recent Macquarie Telecom contract represents an upgrade to existing facilities with the incremental spend per annum of not more than $100,000 including additional band width and service and network monitoring.
- The reference to the Melbourne centre is purely an extension of the pre-existing remote disaster recovery site.
- Webjet maintains an outstanding long term relationship with Macquarie Telecom which continues of course to be based on strict and extensive SLA criteria in relation to which Macquarie has performed at an outstanding level over many years.
