Webjet and American Express Join Forces in New Zealand
13th November 2010
From 4th November, American Express Cardmembers in New Zealand enrolled in Membership Rewards will be able to use Membership Rewards points to book flights online, accessing the full flight inventory available on Webjet – New Zealand’s number 1 online travel agency (source: Hitwise, week ending 16 October 2010). This gives travellers the opportunity to search, compare and select any available flight and then pay using American Express Membership Rewards points.
Travellers don’t have to accumulate the full amount of points to pay for their travel booking on Webjet. As long as they have 10,000 points, which equates to $75, they can pay the remainder with their American Express Card.
Commenting, Webjet CEO, Richard Noon, said:
“Our experience with American Express in Australia has shown us that customers want to be able to use their points to travel where they want, when they want, without restriction. American Express Membership Rewards points as a form of payment on Webjet has been a tremendous success in Australia and we are pleased to now make this available to New Zealand travellers”.
