WebJet and Galileo Southern Cross - A Winning Partnership
9th July 2001
Webjet, Australia's leading Internet travel service, today announced that it had reached agreement with major Australian airline reservations company Galileo Southern Cross, for the exclusive provision of all Webjet airline reservations, previously supplied by Amadeus.
Webjet Managing Director David Clarke said "we are delighted with the agreement as it ensures the provision of state of the art airline reservation capabilities to our web site booking engine, and sets foundation to explore some exciting commercial and strategic opportunities for both our companies in the future.
"As the leading Internet travel service in Australia, we require a technology partner who can continually provide us with sophisticated e-travel solutions. Galileo's global presence gives us access to the best IT travel solutions available in the world," Mr Clarke said.
Mark Rizzuto, General Manager Galileo Southern Cross, said Galileo was dedicated to excellence and recognised the need to supply solutions that delivered a real advantage to Webjet.
"As a leading provider of e-travel solutions, it is fitting that we partner with Webjet to facilitate the ultimate online travel shopping experience. We know that Webjet prides itself in using the best leading edge technology on the market and this has clearly contributed to their astonishing growth over the past year.
"With their rapidly growing consumer awareness and solid business model, Webjet is clearly a serious force in the Internet travel arena. We are therefore very excited about this opportunity. Our future is reflected in the continued growth and success of our customers, and we are thrilled with this endorsement," Mr Rizzuto said.
