Webjet today announced that it has entered into a three year contract with Penzance Technology Limited for the provisioning of the next stage of its technology rollout.

Commenting, Webjet's Managing Director, David Clarke, said "after a global review of next generation booking engines, Webjet is delighted to have completed negotiations with Australian owned and based Penzance Technology Limited to provide us with ARNOLD, which we consider to be the most advanced internet travel booking engine available in the world.

Scheduled for release in late January, ARNOLD will provide our customers with a massively enhanced calendar driven best fare search capability, along with all of the facilities currently available on webjet.com.auThis functionality is particularly relevant in the Australian travel market where, due to increased airline competition, special fares, complex fares, often with restricted availability, are in heavy consumer demand and ARNOLD will empower our customers to realise the fundamental benefit of being a Webjet customer - "Now you can be your own travel agent".Penzance's Managing Director, Bruce Boundy, said "We are extremely pleased that Webjet, who we believe to be synonymous with Internet innovation and leadership, has selected ARNOLD as the booking engine to assist in their business growth. As we are in the process of securing the companies that we view as leaders in the various facets of the Australian travel industry, we are equally sure that Webjet is positioned to enjoy a prolonged period of growth and success".

Webjet's announcement follows on from the recently completed contract with Face Time Communications which provides their customers with interactive and on-line customer care services.
