Webjet Bookings Surge Defies Industry Downtown
23rd October 2001
Webjet today announced a major surge in bookings despite 11th September and a reported major downturn in the Australian travel industry.
Webjet's Managing Director, David Clarke, commented "As reported on 1st October, our domestic booking demand appeared strong. That trend has now improved further with the last three weeks culminating in a record last week where gross transactions totalled approximately $302,000, a peak of nearly double the average of each week in the quarter ended 30th September. On a full month basis, we expect October to be nearly 50% higher than the September quarter average".
We remain very encouraged by the results.
