22nd January 2002

Webjet today announced the scheduled upgrade of its Internet server operation, which will effectively double traffic capacity.

Announcing developments, Webjet's Managing Director, David Clarke, said "The upgrade is scheduled for this weekend and will effectively double our current Internet server capacity to keep pace with increasing traffic demands. Webjet's site sessions have, during the month of January, increased to over 4,000 a day compared with an average of 3,000 a day in the quarter ended 31st December. We expect site sessions to continue to build over the next quarter and the current upgrade is in fact a prelude to the installation of a new communication server which is scheduled for approximately March".

"The combination of these changes will, by that time, have trebled our processing capacity and will lead to the introduction of some new, sophisticated airline availability search software, also scheduled for March this year".

Webjet's Internet site is hosted by Telstra and the booking engine and associated database and communication servers are hosted by Web Central.
