Webjet Expands Market Footprint

Webjet today announced an expansion of its current media schedule to regional Australia with specific concentration on regional Queensland, New South Wales and Victoria in conjunction with the Channel 7 affiliate network.
Commenting, Webjet Managing Director, David Clarke, said:
"As tentative signs of economic recovery are emerging we consider there is a unique opportunity to expand our market footprint into regional Australia which accounts for greater than a third of the total travelling population.
Whilst we currently enjoy substantial support from regional Australia we believe the general economic indicators suggest that it is an opportune time to increase marketing in these areas. In addition the regional markets are currently exhibiting a higher income growth rate than Australian metropolitan markets.
We have identified a number of additional market opportunities where we consider the media buying opportunities are optimum and where the consumer market is likely to be responsive to our general brand proposition.
Over the next several months the combination of these opportunities may result in a slightly higher marketing spend relative to TTV. Further details will be released at the time of our full year accounts filing in early August."
