Webjet Extends SMS Capability

Webjet today announced a substantial expansion of its interactive consumer communication systems.
Commenting, Webjet's Managing Director, David Clarke, said "Following the successful pilot introduction of a limited SMS capability in May this year, Webjet has been working on a development project with the Start Corporation, which has now led to an expanded range of interactive SMS capability.
The new facility, which will commence operations at the beginning of December, will include:
- SMS interactivity with the Service Centre for customer queries and responses
- integrated links into the CRM customer profiles
- one way outbound Service Centre customer communications for events such as flight rescheduling, last minute ticketing requirements and other last minute service requirements consistent with Webjet's recently introduced last minute deals
- marketing information, again consistent with last minute deals and their special communication to our customer database.
"The combined facilities effectively tap into an ever growing SMS community and has very particular relevance to a cost effective and time effective means of communicating last minute deals which may otherwise be missed."
