22nd August 2000

WEBJET Ltd (ASX:WEB), Australia's leading online travel provider, is making life on the road much easier for travellers with the addition of powerful unified messaging technology to its bank of value added travel services.

The new service, Unidex Global Director, is the world's premier message management suite, enabling users to send and receive voicemail, fax or email via a touchtone phone from anywhere in the world. Global Director is one of the leading unified messaging services that allows the user to listen and reply to emails by voice from a touchtone phone.

WEBJET will offer Global Director to its customers at a significant discount to the current market price of the service.

The unified messaging service will be targeted at both business and pleasure travellers, who will pay a monthly fee for access to a personal mailbox. The cost through WEBJET will be $11.95 per month per mailbox, significantly less than the current retail charge of $15.95.

In addition, Global Director will be offered free of charge to customers as part of regular promotional product offers on the site.

"The service will give more time back to the traveller by further enhancing the travel benefits that WEBJET offers," said WEBJET's Managing Director, Mr David Clarke. "Instead of spending hours chasing messages, Global Director means only one number needs to be called to access a single unified mailbox.

"WEBJET's aim is to make the 'experience of travel' less complicated, and more seamless and enjoyable," he said. "With more and more travellers taking advantage of this type of technology, we saw that the addition of Global Director would be an extra step toward achieving this goal."

Unidex CEO, Mr Keith Pimblett, said he was excited to be extending the Unidex service potential into travel through a supplier that is showing significant leadership in the provision of online travel services.

Global Director will eventually be integrated into WEBJET's service centre to tie in with other upcoming advanced customer service benefits.

WEBJET's Unidex announcement follows a string of strategic alliances and initiatives designed to extend its reach and enhance its service provision. Recent alliances have been struck with ISIS Communications, Primus and themoneyshop. Service initiatives include Webcam, integrated online video technology that links users to a 'real human' consultant, and Websure, an innovative insurance policy to protect WEBJET online users against credit card fraud and non-delivery of service.
