13th March 2001

Webjet today announced a better than prospectus result for the 6 months to 31st December 2000. The loss of $1.13 million is approximately half the net loss forecasts.

Commenting, Webjet's Managing Director, David Clarke, said "On current indications and in the absence of any material market deterioration, we expect the full year loss to be around $2.2 million compared with our prospectus which forecast a net cash overflow of $4.6 million to 30th June 2001. Our cash revenue at the end of December stood at $4.3 million.

As already reported to the market, booking transactions have increased dramatically in the first quarter of 2001 reflecting the consumer uptake on our marketing plan and technology developments. Bookings have shown over a 500% increase in the last three weeks compared with the average for the December quarter and presently that rate of growth is accelerating to the extent that the week ended 10th March reflects a ten times increase compared to the December quarter average.
