Webjet: May Takes Off

Webjet today announced a flying start to May bookings, with the first week totalling over 520 (over 800 tickets) and transaction values of approximately $170,000.
Commenting, Webjet's Managing Director, David Clarke, said "This number represents a further 30% increase on our April average. Most importantly, over 95% of the bookings were automatic customer booked. If this trend can be sustained it is likely that Webjet will take the next step to complete its mission of being the only pure online travel operation in Australia. We are now contemplating putting in place the final piece of the jigsaw - maybe as early as June - a move which we previously believed would not be possible for another 6-9 months. Our growth rate and the customer acceptance of our booking methodology is considerably ahead of expectation".
