Webjet today announced according to Hitwise internet traffic data that it has taken No 1 spot in the Australian Internet Travel Agent's category for the week ending 12 August 2006.
Commenting, Webjet Managing Director, David Clarke, said:
"We have been progressively narrowing the previously small gap over the last few surveys and have now taken the No 1 spot. We also have developed a site traffic gap of significant size, in most cases many multiples, of all other players in the category. This is a product of the marketing partnership between Webjet, our agency, White Advertising and Beyond and the National Seven Network team, who have delivered one of our six month campaign targets in just six weeks.
Importantly, our booking conversion rate has kept pace with increased site traffic and as a result we have, in the last two weeks, recorded all time transaction records of $4.6 million for the week ending 12 August and $4.8 million for the week ended 19 August.
We are delighted with these results at the beginning of our new financial year."
