Webjet Sales Lift 20% In September Quarter

Webjet today announced an approximate 20% lift in gross transaction values in the September quarter compared with the quarter ended June 30, 2003.
Commenting, Webjet Managing Director, David Clarke said "at the beginning of September we saw tentative signs of market recovery and envisaged a possible 10% lift in turnover (refer market advice on 9 September). The trend has accelerated over the last four weeks and preliminary figures to September 30 indicate gross transaction values of approximately $5.5 million compared with $4.6 in the preceding quarter.
This turnover growth has been achieved on a substantially reduced advertising spend and we believe is reflective of our strengthening brand position".
To capitalise on the strengthening market Webjet has today announced a major international airfare promotion for the month of October.
