Webjet to Launch E-pricing
8th June 2010
Webjet today announced that it will be progressively introducing E-pricing covering international flights commencing next week with a progressive roll out over the next month.
Commenting Webjet’s Managing Director said:
"E-pricing has been developed internationally by Travelport Galileo over the last year or so and has now in conjunction with Galileo been tailored for online application for Webjet’s Australian online market.
E-pricing means that Webjet’s Australian customers will have deeper access and wider choice on international fares where the customer is able to take advantage of some cheaper fare structures which may require a route with an additional stopover. They are effectively a trade off between price and itinerary duration but can provide substantial savings in the leisure market.
A simple example would be Brisbane to Los Angeles via Auckland where savings may be in the order of $140 or more on a fare of approximately $1400.
Naturally all of the duration optimized itinerary will continue to be available unchanged so the effect will be a wider choice, and in some cases, additional substantial savings."
