Webjet Wins Deloitte Technology Fast 50 Award

Webjet has come 10 th in the 2004 Deloitte Technology Fast 50 awards, achieving 411% per cent revenue growth over the last three years.
The Deloitte Technology Fast 50 ranks the 50 fastest growing technology companies, public or private, based on percentage revenue growth over three years (2001 to 2003) and includes all related industry sectors: Communications; Software; Semiconductors, Components and Electronics; Life Sciences; Internet; and Computer Peripherals.
Webjet is an online retailer specialising in the sale of travel services over the internet via its website webjet.com.au.
Webjet Managing Director, David Clarke said, "Our significant growth is a result of making sure that we continually have the most appropriate systems is place to best meet the needs of our customers. Additionally, we have ensured that through our dedicated service centre team, our website customers have instant online access to experts who can assist them with any type of query be it technical or product related.
With the confidence that we have the right technology and the best support structure in place, having a recognisable and trusted consumer brand has been the third element in building our online business. To do this we have concentrated mainly on traditional advertising mediums such as Television, Flight Magazines and Billboards which in the absence of a bricks and mortar shop, provide us with a "physical" consumer presence. We have supplemented this with some online marketing which is becoming more sophisticated and we will continue to blend these mediums to ensure we find the best mix for Webjet.
One of our most successful strategies has been to stay focused on our model of being a pure internet based travel service. We have ensured that we offer a range of values to the consumer that are clearly different to other traditional travel agents and hybrid type operators."
